Front Mud-Flaps

Featured Replies

I know that rears appear to have been covered before.

We have a '11' plate estate, & it has rear-flaps fitted, so in order to try & keep the sides/sills of the car reasonalby clean, I was wanting to fit front ones.

Now lookng at the rears, then at the front liners, it seems blatently obvious that the 'TORX' screws are what hold them in place

However, I was just wondering if there was a hidden "But, you need to...." on fitting the front ones, such as cutting the liners.

So, the question is, do they simply screw into place? (or would a soaking in a bucket of very hot water help to contour them prior to fitting)

Nothing special needed - undo relevant screws on liner, line up and screw into place. About a 2 min job......Just turn wheels onto full lock for each side for easier access.

Thankyou 'jrw'

As stated. I presumed so, it was just that "But....." that I wanted clarification on

Will buy a pair onThursday when it's at the main-dealer

The problem is the only front mudflaps that are available for the Octavia are the older square profile so they look a little odd when you have the latest rounded profile ones on the rear, no idea why Skoda haven't introduced the rounded ones for the front yet.

...depends how fussy you are :giggle:

I had the fronts added to my estate, they are the square ones but I don't realy look at them that much, plus as they are bigger they do a good job of keeping the sides of the car that bit cleaner.

If the fittings are both the same, why can't a rear set (rounded profile) be fitted to the front?

The fittings (front to rear) aren't the same.

Will the front ones fit straight on a VRS?

Yes.

Will the front ones fit straight on a VRS?

Yes, the rears fit fine too.

U say u have rear flaps on ur car, why didn't they fit fronts while they were at it ?

Thankyou

I believe that rear mudflaps were fitted as standard on the fl models.

Thread revival :)

I oddly have only rear mud flaps fitted to my estate too, are the square versions for the front the only available option still for a FL model as ideally I want the mud flaps to match, is there another VAG vehicles mudflaps that can be used?

For some reason Skoda only fitted the rear mudflaps on the FL Octavia (excluding vRS & Scout).

Front ones were a dealer fit option.

The square (pre-FL) and rounded profile (FL) are available in both front and rear fitments...

What are they like to deal with mate as its overseas ordering, do you get stung with import tax? How long for stuff to arrive?

I may be better off ordering from the stealers lol

They were fine with mine :) no import tax and I placed an order from the UK same day and the stuff from Super skoda came before that did. 4 days I think it was.
