Superb sportline
Hi Gary, I had a 2016 SEL and traded up to a 2020 Sportline. I found the SEL too soggy and the Sportline feels so much better and firmer without being uncomfortable. I should say both were standard suspension not DCC. Maybe take a test drive in a Sportline and see what you think. Cheers Dave

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Cambelt and water pump replaced this week. I know they've got rid of the time limit, but at 5 years and 3 months and 116,700 miles I decided I didn't want to risk it much longer. Motor factors sent the earlier water pump, so had to wait a day to complete the job. Alternator belt changed too. Running much quieter now as the belt had been squeaky for a good while.

2008 1.9 Diesel, starts but will not run. Multiple dash lights
I had this same issue which turned out to be the immobiliser. Involved a vehicle that had no keys and needed new ones cut. Battery was knackered but it started and ran fine with a jump pack. As soon as we changed the battery, the immobiliser kicked in. Ended up getting the ECU sent away and the immobiliser deleted. Problem solved :) Shouldn't be more than £100 ish to fix it.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
5 years old yesterday and currently on 114k. Just coming up to 2 years ownership and after spending nothing other than a service I'm now having to shell out for a few repairs. Battery failed about 6 weeks ago which when changed still wasn't charging properly and needed an alternator too. Front brake pads a couple of weeks ago. Rear shocks this weekend Service next week Cambelt and waterpump in December. Likely to have lightened my wallet by £1,500+ all in but all work needed.

High mileage?
Is this the black SEL one that was on Ebay for £3k recently? If it is, I thought it looked an absolute bargain for the money.

New battery time?
Just had the battery changed on mine as it died overnight. Yuasa one was £180. Mine was only charging at 12.2 volts so needed an alternator too at £385 :( Now charging at 13.9 volts :) Old one was 4 yrs 10 months from registration and 113k miles.

Forgetting saved DAB stations
My 2016 model did exactly the same every few months and never knew why. Traded it in for a 2020 facelift about 18 months ago and the DAB situation is great. SatNav is a completely different story though - 2016 great, 2020 ****e!!

Rattly gearbox, 66 plate, now just 20K miles old.
Definitely sounds like clutch release bearing and they have that clanky almost agricultural sounding gearchange.

Mileage
There was a 170 engined Superb on Ebay a few months back that had been a taxi all it's life that had 642k on it I think.

Is facelift significant improvement?
Contrary to one of the posts above, I've found the FL headlights to be much brighter than the earlier model. I also don't seem to get dazzled as much by oncoming traffic.

Tailgate issues
If you don't want to donate a kidney to Skoda UK, the eBay copies work fine and are around £200 a pair, rather than £1,000 with VAT, fitting and coding by your friendly Skoda dealer

Clutch and Flywheel Replacement - 2.0 Diesel 150bhp manual (2016)
I was quoted around £1,200 by two local garages and ended up trading the car in to the garage who changed it and they said it was about £700 for the clutch or £1,100 for clutch and flywheel. Definitely much better options out there than main dealers. Same 2016 Superb 2.0 tdi manual.

Tires for 2017 L&K 220 Hatch
Going back to the list at the top, I had Pirelli Powergy's on the last Superb and they were not particularly impressive. Just about got 20,000 out of them on the front when the Michelin's they replaced did 30,000.

Octavia
Alun, I'm pretty sure that all the 1.9 pd 105 bhp models didn't have a dpf unless any of the 4x4 versions did? All 1.6 and 2.0 did have dpf's.

24 hour clock
Yep same here, my 2016 S3 had the 24 hr clock but the 2020 S3 facelift seems to only have the 12 hr 😞
