Vauxhall Astra 1.7 CDTi F/S

Featured Replies

What you need to know:

56 plate Black 5 door Astra SXi hatch.

1.7 CDTI

74K - rising daily.

MOT'd till Oct 2012

Taxed till Aug 2012

ex fleet car, so full service history printout supplied and mileage all motorway

Last serviced in Nov/Dec when I had the cambelt service done too.

Clean interior & exterior.

Uniroyal front tyres, continentals on rear, all with 5-6mm tread

steering wheel controls for audio

Bad points - drivers wing mirror cover is matte black, rather than gloss like rest of the car. Doesn't affect the mirror operation.

Ex fleet, so only one key.

Ciggy lighter flap doesn't spring shut, spring was sprung by other enthusiastic valeter.

I use this car to do Blackpool-Manchester everyday, and it's pretty faultless really. I just want to get back into VAG, as they feel more comfortable than this Astra, which being as SXi has "sporting" pretensions. I'm getting old and creaky.

In the year and a bit I've owned it, never returned less than 48mpg, and now the winter is over, it's starting to pick up a bit more - last few fill-ups have seen 53mpg (calculated with Fuelly).

The bottom line:

£4300

...and next to the PD lump, probably one of the next best and strongest diesel engines of all time.

Made of granite apparently, and that was from a GM techy after I'd driven mine 6 miles on petrol 30,000 miles ago, and it hasn't missed a beat since. . :whew:

Didn't get the clean the car but a few shots snapped in the car park at work this morning.

Not happy that I find one of the roof clip/mount things has opened/snapped at some point this weekend (though I don't use roof racks etc, so how, I've got no idea)

In light of that small part and the wing mirror cover not matching (matte black, not metallic black, like the car), a slight reduction to

£4150

Seen and chosen the new motor, now need to get the funds together.

So, a one time price drop to

£4000 ono.

Will get a proper wash and more pics tomorrow.

But you could have this car on your driveway by sunday.......and I just filled up the fuel tank this morning....

new weeks bump....mileage now 76500, and yet another clip from the roof has gone for a wander.

However, the price is still keen, and there is a little wiggle room.

Just another bump to say mileage is now 80K

and the price is keen at £3650, ono.

Will also consider swap for 1.9 TDI from VAG (Octavia sized up))

or 2.0 TDCI from Ford (focus estate, pref mondeo) and cash either way....

Bump, link to Autotrader advert.

Mention Briskoda, received a discount on the asking price immediately.....

Just quick question - am I asking to much for the car? It does need to be sold pretty quick now, but at the same time, not willing to take a hosing......(like the guy that offered me £2200 yesterday.... :D )

You were asking too much to start with if you don't mind me saying. If you'd put it up at this to start with I'd have had it off you for the daughter who only lives in Castleton, but I've sorted her with something else! I'd say this is a keen price now.

Don't mind the feedback at all. At the time of initial listing, it was comparable with other vehicles on the market. Course, the market moves, and so i've had to move with it.

Hope the "something else" isn't a French one... :giggle:

Radical price drop, as I need to move to a bigger car in the next two weeks....

£3100, and it's yours.
