Fabia Windows

Featured Replies

Call me sad but since I had to work yesterday in the heat (and today again in the blistering heat :( ), I noticed whilst locking the door at work that one of the window makes is different from all the rest. The rear drivers side window is made by Sekurit the rest by Spintex. I have never had the window replaced and I got it new with 8 miles on the clock. Any suggestions why this is? Did someone break the window and have to replace it pre-delivery?

Well maybe this is because Skoda has diferent contractor for the supply of the windows. Maybe they get short on one brand and use the other brand or use both brand at the same time.

My wife 2001 Skoda Octavia Combi has the front window Sekurit brand and all the other ones are Splintex.

could be all sorts of reason. most likely damaged before delivery. but if its been done by the dealer then there shoudnt be anything to worry about.

Yeah I trust the dealer well and he never said anything. I suppose it was damaged at the factory rather than the dealer as the quarterlight window is the same make as the rest suggesting there was an imprefection/damage caught at the quality control stage. It is also the window that is the noisist going down.
