USB lead to connect to car stereo?

Featured Replies

Hi all

Picking up my Octavia 2.0 Sport tonight, and am wondering if you can get a lead to connect to the in-car stereo so you can play music from a phone or mp3 player?

If you have the Jumbo Box between the front seats, then you probably have a 3.5mm Aux connector in there and can get a lead from Maplins, eBay, etc for a few quid.

If you have MDI fitted, not only can you use your headunit to control your music on your phone / MP3 player, but you can charge it up as well. Leads for this cost quite a bit more and can still be found on eBay or dealer.

Cheers KBphoto - what's MDI?! I don't have the jumbo box, and it looks like a standard Skoda stereo to me

With a standard stereo and no Jumbo Box you are unlikely to have a way of connecting an MP3 player directly to your stereo. Sorry.

It will cost about £120 to buy and retrofit yourself (used) and then you can choose from MP3 player, hard disk or a number of other cables to plug in most devices.

Oh well. I was close. But not close enough.

Lol
