Any 1.6CR TDI Greenline II owners?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I have a Seat Leon Ecomotive 1.6CR TDI, which is the same engine as the 1.6CR TDI Greenline II I believe.

I was just wondering what mpg people were getting out of these and if you could, state what your mileage is?

I seem to be struggling a bit with mine, and have a feeling it's to do with the longer gear ratios, and would really appreciate any tips :)

Greenline II estate mpg as below. I find that if you drive it hard the economy will suffer.

Cheers mate,

How high do you go on the revs, and what speed to you change gears? I've been told that you need to drive it at a few higher revs than a conventional diesel, and am doing so, but not sure whether I'm doing it right!

To be honest I don't take a lot of notice of what revs. Up to 30mph in 3rd gear, then change to 4th to about 40mph and then 5th from then. (except if I need to accelerate more quickly to overtake etc.) The gearing may be different between the Seat and the Skoda though. I do sometimes (when not in a hurry) monitor the mpg on the current mpg display on the dash.

Many Seat 1.6tdi owners here also complain about the low MPG and the fact the power ain´t anywhere close to 1.6tdi models of Skoda/vw/audi

Wonder why.

I'm not sure how the Greenline works, but the Leon has the extended gear ratios. I managed to get good mpg today, averaged 67mpg on a motorway run at 60mph with cruise control on.

But I have seen the complaints.

67 mpg is good, i have an estate with roofrack + cycle carrier fitted, it rarely goes above 60mpg anymore.

With the stuff off the roof it will slip over 60mpg occasionally, but is usually in the 50's somewhere.

Driving style, tyre pressures, car payload all have an impact on the mpg.

 IVE GOT A OCTAVIA GREENLINE 1.6 HATCHBACK AND GENERALLY WITH CITY AND MWAY DRIVING IVE BEEN GETTING ABOUT 65 MPG BUT MY CARS GENERALLY EMPTY .

I AGREE WITH YOU THE MORE YOU LOAD IT UP AND AGGRESSIVE DRIVING STYLE IT DROPS THE MPG QUITE QUICKLY .
