iphone 4S...clarification please

Featured Replies

I have a 58 reg, 2009 Superb Elegance as a company car.

My employer recently (and finally!) replaced my basic Nokia phone with an iphone 4S.

So I have gone from superb connectivity with the Columbus to none at all. I have searched these forums and come to the conclusion that there is no way of connecting the 4S to the Columbus in my early 2009 car. Is this definitely correct?

Central Skoda said the only solution was a new under seat box of tricks priced at £900!

The solution is a new Bluetooth (under the seat) unit, that's correct. However, have a search on here in UKCruiser's posts for details of the unit you need, then have an electronic shop around! :)

Thanks Ray, I'll have a look but I guess the lease company wont want me messing with the spec of the car.

You can get bluetooth unit from ebay, just swap units around I did this in 5 mins! then when your lease is up swap them back.

£120 and 5 minutes work job done.

Thanks for your input.

Don't worry about the lease company, Dan. The Bluetooth module is a simple swap and is undetectable. It's the only way to pair your iPhone without buying and fitting a third-party solution (Parrot, for example). As has been said, you can swap it back when the lease ends, although I suspect that you'll forget about doing that when the time comes! :)

Dan,

I had the same problem myself, but I had the Fiscon kit fitted which works great. Just google it. Costs about £300 fitted which is far cheaper than the price you were quoted.

I have a 2009 (jan)elegance and my daughter has an iPhone 4s and it connects with the Columbus unit with no problem..
