Hello from India

Featured Replies

Greetings everyone! I have just purchased a new Octavia vRS a week ago, after reading extensively about the car on this forum and others. Compared to my previous car (a Honda City) it is very smooth and refined and I am looking forward to driving it as often as I can, despite the chaotic traffic conditions in Delhi.

Has anyone ever figured out why the interiors of all new cars smell so nice? Wish I could have that smell last forever.

Cheers.

Bomi

Welcome to Briskoda, Bomi, and good to know that our site helped you choose your new car. :D

Hi there. I had to have a nose at the Honda India site to see what your old car looks like. It seems very similar to the Honda Civic we get over here with a boot added on at the back.

What else did you consider buying instead of the Octavia?

Namaste!

Welcome! good choice

FYI, The city is an Asian built Honda meant only for sale in Asia. Currently being built in Thailand and in its 2nd generation already. Dunno if the City is assembled in India. Enclose some pics of the current City in the current guise.... :D

1. Toyota Corolla - found it tinny, unstable while cornering at speed and the engine noise was audible inside with the windows shut at speeds of 60kms.

2. Cheverolet Optra - has a Daewoo 1.8 engine. Found the pick-up and braking poor.

3. Hyundai Elantra - Diesel CRDI and Petrol. Perhaps the best of this lot, especially the diesel. But looks did not appeal to me.
