Voice Control not Working?

Featured Replies

Bit stumped on this one

The car is an 06 VRS with Maxidot. It has a retro fitted 3TO Columbus (HW H42 SW 2764) that integrates with the maxidot fine, showing nav instructions and radio etc.

I've fitted a bluetooth module - this one: 5K0 035 730D

Along with a wiring kit from carsytems.pl including the original fit microphone.

The BT works fine with my HTC desire, downloading the phone book nice and quick, streams music from my phone all fine. It doesn't integrate with the maxidot which I undersatnd is because the Bluetooth unit is a later one and will only show on FL maxidot cars. This is fine as the details come up on the Columbus anyway.

My main issue is when I press the i/voice button on the Columbus all I get is the screen pop up with all the voice control/names I can speak but my instructions are not heard as such and the unit just goes back into playing music etc.

Am I missing something? I've coded as per instructions on this site to enable voice control and all other coding is working as it should.

Hope someone can help

Oh that's a pain, I thought the pre wired leads would take care of that (as advertised) . Don't fancy cutting leads etc. So may just add another mic as that sounds the simpler option.

Has anyone done a similar thing? And if so what Mic did you use etc.

I had the voice control added to the Car kit loom, just one wire run from the carkit box under the seat to the back of the columbus, Shark performance did it for me when it was in for a remap, works a treat

Yeah me being stupid the cable that carsystems supplied was infact the correct one and I'd just clipped the microphone connector to the bluetooth clip on the harness rather than the head unit one! doh.

Now have full voice control yipee! and a Kufatec wiring harness that needs a new home.
