I have a Mk1 Fabia VRS and I'm dragging the missus camping in June. She's adamant that we should take our two bikes. Presumably the roof-rack ones are better? I used to have a boot-rack on my Corsa and it rubbed the paint severely where the straps hooked over the bootlid. I'm not looking to spend a fortune, as I can't see us using it much (if ever again). Ideally if someone has one I could rent for a week in June (in the North East somewhere), that would be great!

Thanks in advance :)

they have boot ones in aldi for £30 and i halfords for around £60. Have a look on chainreactioncycles.com aswell as theyre cheap on there. If you get one for £35 or less you could sell it and make your money back. Id personally go for the roof bars and bike carriers though myself.

If its going to be a regular occurrence then invest in some second hand roof bars and then buy the Thule 591 bike carriers or similar.

You will be able to re use the carriers on different cars then sell the roof bars and buy different one for each car you get.

Personally I feel it's the most secure way to carry them. I've taken road bikes and MTB on them and they are brilliant...

Hope this helps

I've tried a rear mount on a VRS - had no issues with it. But its definately only for short trip.

this is the Halfords £60 one

Its all about the roof rack. I picked mine up seconhand for 15-20 nd then just some general bike carriers. In all cost me about £40. I chased down a porsch with these on which was amusing.

They're right though, it's all about the roof bars!
