Brake Noise in Reverse Oct Vrs??

Featured Replies

Just bought an Oct Vrs and have done 1200 miles in it when reversing into parking spaces or at low speeds the brake discs seem to grind and moan very slightly.... When light pressure is applied the moaning becomes very loud!.

Will this go away and is it serious.

....can't wait for the puns to come on the grinding and moaning

Thanks in advance

I have the same problem so do many others, its a common problem, try not to reverse ;-)

That's a hell of a long way. Maybe you should stop closer to the space in the first place!! :D

Mine does it too. Apparently you can get a "kit" to stop it but I've not bothered, it doesn't seem to bad to me (done 6k in mine from new)

Mine started doing this when i had new pads fitted on the back when it was in for service. They've calmed down and gone quiet now tho.

Excellent guys thats put my mind at rest..... I normally stop within 800 miles of the space.

I stopped in a car park and reversed and scared the bejeebies out of some old guy with the noise, who proceeded to shake his head in disgust!!... my only satisfaction was that he was getting out of an 05 rover!!

How's his warranty? :D

the same place as the company...down the pan! : :dung:

The warrenty isnt an issue unless somthing goes wrong, however I would be more concered that one of the rover MD's has halved the prices of the cars on his motor companies forecourt so think about residual values, shame such a shame

This is due to the brake callipers that are placed off centre for very technical reasons and you cant do anything about this. Sorry!!!
