GFB dump valve?

Featured Replies

Anybody have one of these fitted?

I bought my car with this fitted (vrs mk1 ) I'm not sure if it's affecting the power... I know it can be adjusted between recirc and atmospheric how is this done? I'm having no engine management light come on so should it be affecting it?

Any help would be appreciated

Could be, when my valve pops a hose off I never get the engine light on

Hmmm, I would like to set it to full recirc n see if it makes any difference I can hear whooshing when boosting I have stock air box n think it could be coming from the valve and not just general turbo noise?

I had a gfb hybrid valve fitted to mine be fore I had it remapped and that worked well dumping 50 % to atmos and 50% back in the intake, but if urs is just a standard one(not hybrid)leave it in recirc mode as the 1.8t hate atmos dump valves.mine had a blanking plug to bung the atmos part if u wanted full recirc and no dumping sound,

Mine is a hybrid one, tried tightening the thread on top of the valve this morning and a little less dumping I'm gonna assume all is well big car I guess and only 180 bhp so suppose it goes as well as it shud just me assuming dump valve is causing issues

if you have it recirc and dumping i found my car was slower the if ran on full recirc, also compared to the forge one i have now, it was slower resonding, there should be a o ring on the lock not for the nipple is it there?

I don't get why people change the standard valve, yeah if its broken replace it but mines far from standard and still has the standard valve on it and it works perfectly well even plumbed straight into inlet manifold.

If you want it to make a noise just put a induction kit on it and you can hear valve dump everytime you change gear

having had all three i do sort of agree, but a standard or forge on a remapped car with a induction kit or modded air box is not as loud as a gfb valve dumping to atmos on a standard car :)
