Anyone know where tesco get their 97 RON SUL from? I know Sainsbury's is really BP Ultimate (according to Jabba).

I always used to use Tesco's unleaded but don't any more having been shown the crud which was in the fuel filter of my Felicia. And sorry, can't help with the supplier of their 97SUL.

I seem to remember that they get their stuff from Esso. Could be totally wrong though.

It could just be my local Tesco but the small independent garage I use to service the Felicia advise against using Tesco's fuel because of the level of contamination. They have also noticed that where a fault is fuel-related, it is more likely to be that the car has been using Tesco fuel than other brands. I respect their advice and follow it having been shown what the fule filter has trapped.

Don't know if it's still true or not, but most of the Supermarkets used to buy their fuel in bulk on the open-market from the cheapest source available at the time. Therefore, there was no telling what's going into your tank - one week it could be a high quality 'branded' fuel such as Shell or BP, the next some generic unbranded stuff that only just meets the minimum BS standards.
