Urban headlight replacement

Featured Replies

Read in various places about the cost of bulb replacements on the Yeti - understood it was a bumper off job? Given that I've just ordered a new Urban, and to mentally prepare myself for financial hit when a bulb eventually goes, I asked the dealer the cost of replacement and fitting. To replace the headlight bulb I was quoted was £15 for the bulb and the job was that simple it was done free. Xenons were very different due to the mega cost of the bulb but thats one for the elegance. Question to all you time served Yeti owners out there, is that the way it is or am I missing something, like its the indicator bulbs and not the headlights?

Cheers muchly

Garry

34k miles and no headlight bulb replacement needed yet - so no idea!

Bosch xenon bulbs in Halfords are £79.99 each.

I changed both headlamp bulbs in less than 10 minutes...no problem

It's the front indicator bulbs that require the bumper and headlight to be removed.

To change the bulb for the first time, you have to 'snap' a plastic cover off the back of the headlight unit and replace it with one supplied with a bulb kit from the dealer.

Ahah,

Thanks TP, so its the indicators that drain the resources. Any idea what getting the agent to sort the lot might be? ....could be I need to start saving now.

Cheers

Garry

Garry, I don't think you need to worry too much. It's ONLY the front indicator bulbs that need workshop assistance. Face it, they are not that critical - you can drive without them over a weekend, and they are not lit-up for very long over the lifetime of the car - so last a long time.

I cannot remember ever having to replace an indicator bulb i all my 50 years of driving.

All the other bulbs on the Yeti are DIY (except maybe for xenons??), although you do need to be nimble and small hands and a small mirror helps.
