I was under the impression from other threads that the 2013 model car was being produced after week 21.

Today I have been informed by my dealer that if your vin plate has a "C" (in the middle of the number) in it that then denotes it is model year 2013 and a "B" is for 2012.

This came about as my L&K did not have the chrome grille and I am disputing that with Skoda as my car went to confirmation while the broucher still showed them included. My dealer is supporting me in this. I have told Skoda that if it was not included then why was I not informed and the price reduced accordinly.

Apart from that I love the car and I am off to Scotland tomorrow so I will see how the mpg does.

Incidently my dealer has just had an L&K estate 140ps, DSG 4x4 (delivered in Magnetic Brown) as the bosses car. Looks very nice but personally I am glad thaI chose Steel Grey.

I believe that the 10th letter of the VIN denotes the model year. For Skoda C denotes MY 2012 with B being 2011 therefore MY 2013 should logically be a D. My Superb has a C as the 10th letter which correctly denotes MY2012. This is also backed up by Elsawin.

Looks like your dealer may be confused.

The 2012/05 owners manual is out (look in pinned tread...).

As far as I can see, there are no changes...

I think you will find the brochure will cover itself by saying specification is subject to change (or other such words)

I haven't read the 2012/05 version yet (I have downloaded it this morning though) but one things for sure...its quite a few pages shorter!! Dunno what that,s due to.

Has anyone actually got a 13 model year car yet?

Mine is due to be built next week. I'm not expecting anything different to what I orderd but does anyone know otherwise?

I checked with a dealer today and he said that we were now in 2013 MY. So, yours being built next week will definitely be 2013. He also said that apart from a little cosmetic enhancements to the grill on the L&K there was no difference between 2012 and 2013.

Skoda have stopped the grille enhancement for the grille as of March this year and I'm not aware that they are bringng it back.

In this week’s edition of this German magazine, there is a large article about new Skoda’s.

Most of the article is devoted to the new Rapid, Octavia and Fabia. However, there is a passing reference to the 'upgraded' Superb, which is available in May 2013. There is one picture of the front and no mention of any rear or cabin changes. The picture is not available on their website today but it should be there soon.

The bonnet is similar to the new Rapid with a distinct notch, which extends down into the grille. The grille is now much shallower, about half the current depth.

The headlights are also have much less depth to match the grille. They are almost rectangular and wrap around into the front wings to a much lesser degree. Drl's are built into the headlights; they extend on three sides of the headlights in a C pattern that mimics the rear light pattern and look just like an Audi.

Changes like this are of course a subjective matter but in my opinion, it is a great improvement, giving the car a very different and more purposeful look. If they change the rear of the hatch to the same degree, it will be a significant upgrade drastically improving the model.

My car arrived today. I will see it on Monday. I wonder if these changes apply to the model year 2013 or is it something else? Maybe the facelift of skoda superb 2... My car is MY2013

Hmmm Watch out L&K owners for the power steering firmware update (recall) that is going round.

The dealer did mine and when i tried to use my Park Assist it just kept saying "Speed to High".

Even following all the instructions no GUI for parking ever came on.

Took it back and they did yet another power steering firmware update and hey presto it worked!

Only problem is they tested the Park Assist after the Firmware update and politley wrote on the report sheet "Park assist working when tested".

Did they not think to test all faults BEFORE they started the work!!!

Another thing.

The L&K has an upgraded sound system, now i thought that only the two additional door speakers are amped, wrong!

The L&K has a big Amplifier hidden behind the dash that drives all of the speakers.

My NS Rear door bass speaker was not working (didnt notice till i was polishing it one day and had the music on low then opened the rear NS back door and could only hear the tweeter.)

thought this was a simple "Blown" speaker but after two visits to the dealer they have ordered a replacement Amplifier.

To make matters worse, while messing about they have done something to the otherwise 80% functioning audio and now it has a horrible high pitched squeal which means you simply cannot listen to the stereo at all!!

got to wait for thew part to arrive (next Saturday) then it is booked in for a couple of days for them to sort it out.

Absolutley love the car but it has been back to the dealers more times for little stupid things than any other car i have had.

Still £23000 for a car that is fully loaded, is barely half a second slower than a 170PS vRS and is stupidly luxarious!!!

I am going to try the mod to enable VIM for the kids later, i am cheesed off with them having those stupid £79 DVD screens hanging over the fron seats when the bloody car has the capability!!!

I am 35 and i know not to look at a DVD while driving.
