Aircon compessor

Featured Replies

My Aircon has not been working for a couple years now, and with the realisation that I might be hanging on to the old bus for another year or so, Ive decided to get it sorted. I have not had it checked yet but I'm assuming I am going to need a compressor.

Can anyone confirm the Sanden compressor I need for a 2006 Octavia 2.0Tdi is a model #PXE16 ??

If this is correct, I think I have found a supplier in Ireland selling them for 249Euros, is this a good price ??

Any further advice/info would be much appreciated.

Cheers lads.

Are you sure it doesn't just need re-gassing?

I agree. Take it in for re-gassing and a leak test (they will add a fluorecent dye to the gas so that any leaks can be detected with a UV lamp). About £50 the last time I had this done, the cost of which came off the subsequent repair. You may also have a "low system pressure" VAGCOM code if you can get it plugged in.

It has close to 300,000miles on it, I'd bet my house the compressor is shagged. I'll plan to get it checked out.........I'm just preparing for the worst.
