Good luck with it, that's a nice step up from the fabia! :-)

LOL - I meant - how do you find the sat nav - I'm a bit of a tom-tom man - but really love the idea of having it all integrated.

Are there any guides around for the Sat Nav, mine comes with DAB too....

Thanks

Joe

Got my Yeti Urban 2ltr Diesel yesterday, and all I can say is wow!

I'm loving it...... Everything about it!

Only one thing though - any idea if I can get the music to either drop in volume or mute when the Sat Nav is giving audible instructions? It's the Amundsen + inbuilt sat nav

Joe

Hi joe,

I looked at this today on my urban and found that if you go to radio and turn volume all the way down it mutes the radio but the sat nav audio still came thru the speakers.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

I have also looked at the manual for the Amundsen. Two questions - I could not see any reference to post codes (5 or 7) and it talks about DAB radio - is that installed? I have a Columbus on order, with a Yeti. The manuals are similar except that it does not mention DAB radio, or post codes - although V8 is supposed to have 7 figure post codes...

I was recently travelling in a friends new Audi A4 (hired) and we were trying to drive between Telford and the RAF Museum Cosford - about 10 miles. With only 5 figure post codes, we got lost as it did not know the roads close to the airfield!

Not the easiest place to find Cosford Museum; spent nearly a year there at the RAF Station on my fitters course in the 1990's. Had the delight of going back a couple more times before I retired :S

Hi TP,

I must have done my fitters course a bit before you... We were celebrating our 50th anniversary, in Telford (9th May 1962 - RAF Halton). So some of the aircraft on display were new in my time! The Hercules C130 on display (XV200), I flew more than 40 years ago...

Cannot remember the exact date but sometime late January in 1989 I started my Propulsion Mech's course at Halton, the last few Apprentice courses were just arriving around the time, used to get up to all sorts of tricks; remember while on guard patrol finding one of their disip Sgt.'s Honda 90 buried in a flower bed up to its handlebars :giggle:

For me it's Finding Tornado's in museums; new aircraft were still arriving fresh from Warton in my early days, now they too are slowly being put out to grass (sadly along with the rest of the service; 95,000 personnel in 88 about 30/35,000 now :S ).

My first acquaintance with RAF Cosford was in 1957! I was sent there from RAF Bridgnorth, where I was Basic Training, for a replacement pair of spectacles that had got damaged whilst on the assault course. I was issued with a pair with completely round lenses and flexible strip metal side pieces, the height of fashion! They could also be worn inside out.

The next time I went there was 2 years a go to the museum, wonderful place and FREE.

Hi again TP, (We should have an old soldiers' war stories section...) On our Entry (101st) stunt, was to steal two cannons, one from the REME's, at Chatham, which had been captured at the battle of Mandalay, the other from TS Arethusa, not far away. We loaded them into a furniture van and drove them back to RAF Halton, where in the dead of night they were wheeled onto the parade ground - ready for morning parade! We were all fined & lost the use of our civi's for a while. But I think the powers were impressed! - Peter

Sorry, back on topic: I think the Urban has a good spec', especially with the Sat Nav fitted. Just want to know, if it knows postcodes and has a DAB radio?

  • Author

Hi Tristar - yes - DAB is installed and works very well.... And also the sat nav does have seven digit postcodes....

Loving the Yeti - just want MDI fitted now ...

Joe

  • 4 weeks later...

I saw a black Urban and a white one today at the dealer.

I preferred the look of the black one, the white one to me didn't look right with the things round the wheel arches.

I like the interior trim as well.

My only problem with the Urban is lack of DSG with either engine.
