Standard Vrs headunit fitment

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

Slightly puzzled by something and can't find the right answer so here goes...

A friend has recently bought a mk1 VRS and it has had an aftermarket headunit fitted which is just useless and even worse audio than what is standard fitment.

I have sourced him a headunit (and changer as that had been removed) and wired it all back up, tested it all and is working fine.

Now the main question does the original symphony stereo sit inside of a cage of and description, there was a cage surrounding the old headunit but the symphony just won't fit inside...

Ideally if anyone has a picture of the symphony removed with whats left would be ideal or just a simple - should be a cage or shouldn't.

Cheers :)

You might need to swap they red and yellow wire around if it has been done for the after market one. They are the permanent and switched lives

Sent from my GT-I9100. Not a Crapple!

Cheers guys, had a go anyway did need the keys just to get it a snug fit also took glove box out to ensure cables hadn't trapped.

The wiring was fine last person used an audio block adapter.

All tested, fitted and working :)
