Yamaha CRX M170

Featured Replies

This has been sat in a box for a year or two, since I upgraded to a USB / MP3 equipped unit.

The unit is finished in black (all metal construction) and is complete with the remote, FM, DAB and AM aerials.

Features:

  • 2 x 25 watts (6 ohms, 1kHz, 0.5% THD); bass, treble & balance controls
  • 3.5mm stereo minijack headphone socket on front panel,
  • 2 x tape loops (line in and out),
  • additional line input
  • optical digital output for CD,
  • subwoofer pre output
  • chunky binding post / 4mm banana plug speaker outputs
  • Width 210mm, Height 110mm, Depth 359mm

When in use I seem to recall it occasionally struggled to read CD's, although the DAB radio, tuner (AM/FM) and amplifier are fully functional. I wondered at the time if the CD laser lens needed a clean, although the advent of USB and MP3 playback made my mind up to "upgrade" to a unit equipped with these features.

It would make an excellent a "stand alone" amplifier when connected to a TV / PC / Ipod etc or simply a high quality DAB radio (with appropriate speakers).

The system is quite heavy (~5Kg) and would therefore be relatively expensive to post - local collection anyone?? (based in North Notts / may meet within a reasonable distance to half travelling distance).

£45 ono (collected)
