hi, i want to build some vented discs on my skoda pickup and went to the junkyard to find some parts.

The only thing a could find was the calipers from a ford mondeo v6 witch is 278x24mm brake discs on, and teflontom on here have done this convertion using the regular mondeo brakes that is 260x24mm. the brake discs he used was from a kia rio, i need some discs that is the same measures like the kio rio ones only 278mm, somebody know what i can use? many thanks for replies.

Calipers - Foed Mondeo or Ford Sierra

Disc - Renault Clio Mk1 2.0 Williams or Reanul Clio Mk2 1.5dCi (about year 2000)

i need to have 278mm discs to my calippers not 260mm. can this be done? or do i need to get from a mondeo that is not a V6?

first you need to understand that the caliper will be a different distance away from the center on the skoda hub than on the ford, while the ford may take a 288mm disk the same caliper on the skoda hub may only take a 270mm(it may be the other way round I can't remember now) due to the mounting lugs being shorter.

mount a caliper on to your hub first then measure the distance from the center to the outer edge of the pad and double it for the disk diameter.
