Featured Replies

My sons Fabia vRS he has just bought has a very deep sounding heater fan sound like bearing or balance problems - any one had similar? - his old Fabia was normal sounding - will be back to the dealer to sort.

Its not a badly fitted pollen filter is it? You would know if the sound was coming from behind the glovebox.
Thanks for reply-Just looked and listened again at it its a very load deep sound -dash vibration can be felt badly on dash and steering wheel. Shall not be dismatling anything will leave it for dealer - just hope heater motors are more accessable than they used to be in older cars so no not must dismantaling is required to fix

Noise now sorted by ex Skoda mech - its quite common on the Fabia - on the Fabia air and leaves go through the fan then go through the pollen filter. The problem is caused by leaves etc trapping around fan blades - To sort the problem remove pollen filter from inside the passenger compartment and remove debris - then feel around fan blades picking out any trapped leaves.

Obviously do it with fan off

how easy it it to get at the blower fan , does any one know? i have just changed the pollen filter and my fabia heater fan sounds like a diesel engine with a head ache when i have it on 3rd and 4th speed now . so i guess some much and stuff is stuck in the fan as the old filter was badly clogged up........please advise

Sorry for extremely late reply, but I've just fixed this problem myself and was going to post a sticky before I saw this thread.

In a nutshell: with the fan running, switch to re-circ, wait for the air to blow harder, then switch off the ignition and take out the key (just in case!) Now pop off the D-shaped bit of trim that sits between the edge of the dash and the door when it's closed. Next, undo the two Torx screws underneath the glove compartment, then open the glove compartment door and undo the three torx screws along the top. A gentle push downwards should separate the glove compartment and the rest of the dash. The blower is now right in front of you (big circular thing). By switching the ventilation to re-circ, you opened a little flap on the far side of the blower that lets air from inside the car into the inlet of the blower. You can also reach in with your fingers and remove any leaves. You may need to pull quite hard, as they can get wedged in! Turn the blades with your fingertips to make sure there aren't any more leaves in there, and then put your car back together the opposite way to how you took it apart!!!

Post replies on here if you want me to put up a sticky with pictures, folks...

I would appriciate some pics m8 if you dont mind, cheers
