Yeti 2.0 TDI

Featured Replies

Does this engine suffer with the 2.0PD oil pump failure issue as on the Superb?

Also is the DPF any more robust than the Superb one forcing you into limp mode if you only do low MPH journeys.

Thanks in advance

The 2.0TD CR motor used in the Yeti is a totally different design in terms of oil pump drive, to either the PD or CR engine designs fitted to the Superb II and I cannot think of any notified failures to date.

Regard to the DPF then again few reported issues, although I have had some concerns regard mine, due to a period of almost daily active regenerations, despite regular 36 mile commutes to work. This has now abated and gone back to normal. Dealer could find no fault and the only plausible explanation I've had, given by a friend in the trade, being that the very cold temps my Yeti can be exposed to on the Wold tops, was not allowing the exhaust system to get warm enough to passive regenerate :wonder:

Thank you "The Plumber" for your speedy reply with info.

To the best of my knowledge, no DPF failures as such, but a few failures of the diffeential pressure sensor, measuring the pressure drop across the DPF. Mine had this replaced under warranty after 80,000 km. Symptoms were a bad diesel smell on start-up and seemingly unable to complete the cleaning cycle.

170 HP Diesel now mostly on short trips and no real problems.
