Rear window auto close problem.

Featured Replies

I've searched Briskoda for this and I'm sure it's been covered but my search is a bit limited on my phone.

Yesterday my rear offside window would not close using my key fob, it would fully close then power drop 4".

I got it to close manually with the door controls and thought no more about it. This morning I noticed the same window was open again and again by the same 4".

I opened all the windows with the key fob and then with engine running closed each window with the door controls, each using the usual 'one touch' to send the window all the way up. The dodgy window would not close using the 'one touch' only by holding up the switch, it stopping soon as I lift my finger off.

Any advise, we are expecting storms here overnight, I'm not at home so can't garage it overnight.

It's an 09 Elegance if that's relevant.

Cheers Robert.

Try to roll the window all the way up manually (holding the button) and keep holding the button for another 5 seconds, when the window is completely up. That should reactivate the "auto" function. If that does´nt work, it might be the "anti squeeze" (the system that prevents you from squeezing fingers that might be in the way) system that has a problem.

The above sounds right, although once its at the top and you've held it for a few seconds, do it again a couple of times the same. I know some other cars that need this if they lose the setting for the top of the glass.

It´s not necessary to repeat the step in a Skoda. If you listen carefully you can hear a "click" after a few seconds (after holding the button up after the window is closed).

The problem arises from the force limiter system being activated, Try closing it twice with the door control, hold the button up manually not using the automatic closer, this should reset the sensor.

Thanks to all for the hints & tips, not sure which tip resolved it or if it was my random finger switching including activating and deactivating the window child lock but all is well which is fortunate as its been precipitating down here all night and day. Cheers and thanks again R.
