VW Logo on Engine Cover

Featured Replies

When I picked up my new Superb on Saturday the sales guy looked a bit surprised when he opened the bonnet and the engine had a VW badge on the cover. I assume the VW group engines are made in the same factory but should my Superb have a Skoda logo?

I'd imagine it's supposed to, yes.

A small part of me wants to change mine now just to confuse to next guy to service it.......

Oops, wrong forum.

Superb seats also have Audi logos underneath

Comes from having generic parts across VAG I suppose. Probably either someone at the factory not paying attention or having a laugh- Imagine opening up your brand new Passat/A4 and finding a Skoda Engine

I assume the OP means an actual VW roundel on the top of the engine cover, rather than the generic VAG/VW/Audi logos that might appear on parts.

I have a skoda one stuck over a vw one on my octavia cover..:)

sent from my phone....

Putting some air into the rear tyres for towing and noticed on the rear wheel hub units engraved in the metal, is the 'Audi' logo. :giggle:

i stuck a metal badge on mine cause i hated the black plastic look.......

If it's a new car I wouldn't worry too much unless it's a mistake from the factory.

I looked at an A6 once upon a time. It was a 2.7tdi but the engine cover said 3.0tdi Quattro. Concerned me that someone had meddled with the engine damaged the cover and replaced it on the cheap.

My cover has a black skoda badge clipped on top of the VW one.
