Hello ladies and gents....

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

Just a quick hello from me.

I'm not currently a Skoda owner/driver, but am looking to get one in the near future, probably a 2005/2006 Mk2 Octavia 1.9 diesel.

I'm a fan of a couple of forums, so thought I'd pop in here and dig about on my hopefully new car.

Cheers,

Chris.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Hi Mudwiz

If you are new to cars, especially oil burners, then start reading up on DPFs (diesel particulate filters), DMFs (dual mass flywheels), RXD (rip-off Xpensive diesel! that's cheaper than petrol to refine/produce so I'm told). Take all that into account, your daily use, journey distances to be driven, your likely annual mileage & take into account winter as a diesel lump will take a lot longer to warm up & therefore will not realise it's full economic potential. Overall Skodas are very good cars I'm on my third now, I have had minimal problems really & the cars are so well put together, great on design & space.
