Evening all

I'm trying to decided whether to go with coilovers or matched shocks and springs, my problem is I commute 50 miles a day which includes country lanes and duel carriageway. I would like to lower the car by about 30mm to start with but possibly could see it going lower at a later date. Iv'e got a budget of about £500 which means I could get some half decent stuff but I would like your opinions on it really because I'm not sure if coilovers would be suitable.

Don't forget to budget for new top mounts and bearings and tracking and alignment.

I'd personally do bushes also but can jack the price up considerably when taking into account additional labour

Go for coilies! You can then set them up how you like!! Although remember you get what you pay for so if you get ebay specials expect a harsh ride!

I'm low 30mm on konis and think any lower would cause problems. I catch my splitter sometimes on steep drives or big speed bumps

Something like the Weitec Hicon GT of KW V1 Basic are both more than good enough for everyday use.

100% coilovers - I had Eibach springs on std dampers, now have AP Coilovers and its 100% better. IMO the ride is better as its a matched spring to damper set, and you have the bonus of being able to set the height.

Mines on weitec hicon gt's . . Adjusters completely out at the back and fronts to match. . Used as a daily and awesome,even all the way down they are more comfy than eibach -25 springs were. . Imo anyway. .
