Just go to your local skoda dealer, you'll get everything you need ie oil, filter and sump plug and get change from 30quid

As long as it's VW rated, i.e. VW502.00, or VW504.00 for the longlife, it'll be fine. Most common viscosities are 5w30 or 5w40.

Like Raf said, just go to the dealer and ask for the filter, plug and 5l of Quantum 5w40 oil.

add some flush before changing the oil.And that's it!

Ta guys, nice and easy

Not all dealers sell the Quantum oil. Progress Skoda Letchworth wanted £70+ for 5l of long life oil!

I got Castrol Edge 5W-30 from Euro car parts, it's 504/507 spec and with the Briskoda discount works out quite reasonable.

I have just bought 4l of castrol edge FST and a o/e oil filter for 30 quid delivered from Euro Car Parts I think the oil was £26.00.

Is 4l enough?

Last time I did an oil change it was 4.5 litres lol. I remember when all oil was 5 litres, Castrol was one of the first to start selling 4 litres making most people having to buy another litre bottle lol

Least with quantum you have a 500 ml for top ups lol

Every time when I do the oil change I use 4.8L ....but I have a small secret. After draining most of the oil I crank the engine for 1 sec without starting it(remove fuel pump fuse) and I can get out a bit more ;)
