Fog lamp bolts?

Featured Replies

Got a set of foglamps to install on my Octi (Well, One lamp at the moment. Order two, one comes... rriiiggghhtt)

But then I found there is no bulb, no cables and no bolts :wonder:

Whats best to secure the lamps in with to the bumper?

Assuming you have a pre facelift and a non VRS bumper:

Each fog lamp has a peg at the outer (curved) edge that fits into a corresponding hole in the bumper. The inner edge of the lamps are fixed by two self tapping screws.

The screws fit into two flat spring steel "nuts" that clip onto two pre cut holes in the bumpers.

These nuts are available from halfords. They call them "U-Type Nuts": http://www.halfords....tegoryId_212401

The bulbs are H8 halogen bulbs and aren't that common outside of the USA. They twist fit right into the lamp without any holders since they have a rubber seal fitted.

They do have a special plug to the loom but standard female "lucar" terminals (3mm IIRC) fit just the same. http://www.maplin.co...or10-pack-34145

I'm half way throught this project myself and I won't be buying an OEM loom or switch. You could but I understand they are hard to find and difficult to fit.
