After a quick googling it seems a relatively well established process to increase the power by 25+% to about 150hp. What is the effect on mpg ?

Does anyone know anywhere in the east midlands area that do this ?

Does gettign a remap effect the reliability and resale price in anyway ? And come to think of it insurance ?

If you don't let the insurer know, they could refuse a claim.

Third party liability can never be refused. So in the event that you have an accident thankfully the person you run into will have all of his damage repaired.

Where the problems arrise is when it comes to damage to your own vehicle. The insurance company could refuse to repair your own car or even seek to claim back the damages paid to the third party - this of course could be extremely costly.

Your best bet and the recommended course of action by most people is to simply declare your remap and pay the extra insurance. Insurance will not go up by a massive amount, however you will be safe int he knowledge that all repais would be covered in the event of an accident.

If your current insurance company will not cover a remap then consider waiting until your insurance is up for renewal and then chose one that can offer you the cover you require.
