Updating SW on Columbus unit

My Columbus is running SW1004, I'm hoping to do the FL climatronic retrofit and I believe I need to update the SW to get that to work on my Columbus,

- Can anybody let me know which SW will not cause battery drain on an early 2006 vRS?

- I would like to get it updated to show the speed limits etc, but if it's going to cause battery drain, then I'll forget about it!

I'm not the best when it come's to technical stuff, so how simple/difficult is it to do the update?

- I had the maps updated when it was getting it's last service at the local Skoda dealers, it's got v7.2 maps installed now, is it possible the SW was updated at the same time or will v7.2 work on sw1004?
