Powder coating steering rack

Featured Replies

Anyone done this? I'm a bit worried around the temp the powder has to cure at which is 160 degrees but I should imagine the rack could get close to this temp anyway! So has anyone done it and had any problems?

i woulnt risk it. cant see it getting to that temp mate. there is plenty of air under there and circulation to keep it cool.

not something id do. maybe prime/paint but not powdercoat.

Damn I'd do everything, wife, kids , mother in law etc etc

I've replaced a red one (due to accident damage).

Tempted to Hammerite my S3 rack before it goes on. Not that I'll ever see it again!

That is what I did Rob and all the TT wishbones, Hubs, subframe etc. then every now and then recoat..

I had all my r32 stuff sandblasted and primed and then hammerited them all, altho i just jet washed the steering rack and painted it aswell

I have just done my quick rack with black/silver hammerite. I had to use the hammerite special metals primer on the ally bits before using the normal stuff
