Need replacement aeriel for Mk1 Fabia

Featured Replies

Snapped the end off mine a while back, where should I buy it from and how easy are they to change as I can't see how you remove it?

Some were anti-theft and needed a good tug once unscrewed.

Why not get something better than the standard one? For example a Honda S2000 aerial? :)

if you go for an none OEM one you will need to install an inline signal booster somewhere between the head unit and the aerial as I found out today whilst fitting my stubby aerial. you can pick one up from flebay for £3.78 with free postage.

My understanding was the OEM stereo amplified the aerial, or fed power to an amplifier in the aerial base, which a non-standard stereo can't - so you'd probably need one regardless. The small stubby aerials like the Citroen one, are carp unless you live in a good reception area, with a booster or without. I suspect your reception now without the stubby aerial screwed in is not much worse than with it screwed in.

I'm near Newport, and With a Honda S2000 aerial, a booster, and Pioneer HU, I easily get BBC Bristol and BBC Somerset traffic updates - something the OE aerial and others I tried have never matched. I even got traffic updates from BBC Wiltshire earlier today when up near Twmbarlwm.

tbh the reception from my Stubby is miles better than the OEM one. I have found that it is a clearer crisper signal, however the previous owner had put a cheap aftermarket head unit in. so if the OEM head unit powered the amp in the base then I would be getting a better signal as the booster wasn't being used anyway.

I also managed to pick up key 103 with it from Frodsham in Cheshire (was a bit crackly but still audible) which is no worse than the signal from my previous car. but i suppose it depends on how often you listen to the radio.

6RO 035 849 OEM stubby aerial 20 cm long. Fits all Skodas and incl Polo,Golf etc.

Just need to cut off 3mm of rubber off base of aerial as 5mm thread is short. Got one on my Octy and reception is perfect with no loss.

£14.69 from Skoda/VW dealer.

How about aerial from fabia mk2
