New Skoda Citigo on order

Featured Replies

Hi, I ordered a new white citigo SE yesterday on pcp. I got the p.i.d and GAP insurance and entertainment pack , after haggling, for £145 per month. Did I strike a good deal ?

Looking forward to getting it, as it felt like when I got a VW polo years ago, really solid and safe.

Welcome to the Citigo club, Stu!

I don't know whether you got a good deal or not, but that figure sounds ok.

Did you get a delivery date?

Hi Stu,

Difficult to say without the full details which you may (or may not) want to disclose.

Such as deposit, list price of vehicle with options and what the settlement figure at the end wil be.

Choice is always a personal thing, but usually if you start adding many options it's better value to get the next model up.

The Elegance gets the PID as standard, plus you get heated seats, electric mirrors and a few other bits and bobs.

But if you don't need these the SE is a good car.

It's very easy to fall into the trap of speccing up a small/cheap car and then it's no longer such good value, it's a similar price to a bigger model in the maker's range.

I tried an SE with no options other than alloys and paint and it was a good car.

Yes adding loads of extras obviously puts the price up,and you never get this money back at resale time. It is better to go for the higher spec model like the Elegance. Then of course at £10 000+ you could have a Fabia with a good discount. It is the same with the VW UP in top spec,or the Polo for the same price.

Again cash is best if you can. The internet dealers are knocking £500 off the price at the moment, but i am not sure what the delivery times are.

The deposit was £150. The elegance was £197 a month so a no go for me as I dont want to pay that much for a small second car. If you spec up the elegance to the max, I expect it would be £250 ish a month.

Nice car though just too much for me. I got the SE at the negotiated price of £145 and the P.I.D and entertainment pack and GAP were put in after that and kept the same price so thought I did rather well. So really the extras were a bonus. Also the standard SE was £151 p/m when we started.

GAP is important to me so that was a must, the other bits were just pushing the boundries as far as I felt was possible.

I don't particularly want alloys as they are so easy to scratch, so just got standard wheels as I can experiment with different styles of wheel covers.

Not bothered about resale price as I will exchange it at end of term.

Sounds like you got a good deal then, for a car that suits you and isn't too expensive. :)

The only reason I keep an eye on the settlement figure at the end is because a car that has higher planned depreciation is usually more expensive on a PCP compared to something with a similar starting price but better residual values.

Sorry River27, they said "about 12 weeks but probably sooner".

That seems to be the standard response, I got that too!

The time will pass quickly...

Doubt it....lol

Did you get it from a Manchester dealer or somewhere else? I was in Warrington the other week and there is a Skoda Showroom there that looks good. They had 2 Citygos in the showroom.I sat in one,but no salesman came over.I guess he is used to people sitting in the new car to see what its like.

I got it from Stockport SM. I called him first and I said I would be about an hour, walked in and he came right over and shook my hand had a coffee and a chat then test drive. Were very good to be honest for salespeople.

Called to see where my car was up to because of insurance being due. Was told that it has all gone through but as of yet no build date. They said it would probably be Oct , Nov now instead of Sept.

Told them this wasnt good as my car will be going back end August and will be without a car. He looked through a list of cars that were about and said the best thing to do is try to grab one of those instead of waiting for a build, speakers etc can be added by the workshop when it arrived. He said he would call Monday if possible to get another.

Lots of colours available but mine is white , he said there was 3 maybe's or can have another colour for about £9 extra per month. Told him not bothered about colour but not paying for a colour. Let's see what happens now.

What a ballache :wall:

You were luckier than me. I popped round to them in the middle of June, had a sit in a Citigo and arranged for a call back the following day to arrange a test drive. I'm still waiting for the call. Probably a bit late now as my Citigo ordered from another dealer should be with me in the next 10 days.

All sorted out now I think, Now getting a silver one with spare wheel instead of white. He said it is "port of origin" or something similar so should have it soon ....Bonus!!

C1 goes at end of August so could be great timing!!

He also said the extra speakers will be fitted by mechanics when it arrives.

Anyone seen a metallic silver one yet? Also, what does port of origin mean?

Going to inquire about ordering one myself tomorrow. Probably an SE, although I'm sure on the build configurator the PID is already greyed out as standard on an SE, I thought it was only standard on Elegance as mentioned. If you decide to get one at a later date is £275 and everything is already there.

Tech1e. with regards to the pid, the prep for it is standard (mounting/charging point) but the actual device is extra on s or se.

That's what I thought, and what they told us on the launch course etc. configurator is a bit confusing then, however it is the first time I've used it, never ordered a new car before. Going to bend my sales managers ear tomorrow and see what he can do for me.
