silly question

where is the thermostat on the VRS?

on the end below the vacuum pump or on the front above / behind the alternator?

the haynes manual says on the bottom rad hose, thats the one going behind the alternator, but i don't trust the haynes book as to many things found wrong so far

thats a pain then,

thermostat playing up as when driving gently the engine temp is dropping 2-3 needle widths and if you push it a bit it rises a couple, used to be rock solid on the 90 degree mark regardless how you drove

any tips for getting it out?

not doing bad so far, done clutch, dmf, console bush and cleaned the EGR (only had the light on 10-12 months)
