Skoda Extended Warrenty

Featured Replies

So, the warrenty in my Octy RS ran out last week. When it went for it's first MOT i asked to purchase an extended Skoda Warrenty. The Dealer told me that he could not sell me a warrenty because of a new FSA law that came in on 15 January 2005   . Who are the FSA? I've called a number of dealers and the answer is the same, i even called Skoda Warrenty Department direct and they also said they could not sell me an extended warrenty. There advise was to look in the Yellow Pages for independant companies offering a warrenty policy :mad:

So i've renewed my AA membership, and stuff Skoda!!!!!!! :finger:

Has anyone had the same problem, or can they shed any light on whats going on?

Sorry for ranting on folks

Cheers

The FSA is otherwise known as The Financial Services Agency - an independent body which is responsible for regulating financial services. The VAG extended warranty which Skoda dealers used to sell didn't comply with the new FSA regulations and had to be withdrawn until such time as it is does. Other insurers managed to change their products in time to meet the new regulations but clearly VAG didn't get their act together in time with whoever underwrites their cover. I have recently taken out an extended warranty with Warranty Direct in the absence of a Skoda one being available, and there is at least one other company I could have used instead.

We have a promotion / affiliation with Warranty Direct, details will be published very shortly, rough deal is 15% off quote.

More soon as I am aware of the upcoming 3 year markers for many.
