Goodbye Jaguar Xj (2010 plate) Hello New Skoda Superb Estate 2.0Ltr 170PS Elegance 4x4

Featured Replies

Hi Just wanted to say hello to everyone on the forum.

I've recently got rid of my Jaguar Xj Portfolio (2010 plate)Ex Demo £51,000 with 12000 miles on the clock, due to me being made redundant, I enjoyed the Jag but felt it was more a show piece than a useful asset, having to park it well away from many cars in car parks due to it's overwhelming size, as it stretched over most parking bay painted parking areas, the boot was deceiving making you think that it was emmence ,but sadly lacking in height so it restricted access to large items. Now gainfully employed again I wanted to get a car that was useful and versatile, I looked at several options for 4x4 vehicles but the cost was going to be ridiculous for both the purchase and the running costs (Road Tax etc.) and I looked around for an alternative... I never envisaged I'd ever buy a SKODA, but after seeing the Skoda Superb estate and all the on board Electronicry/Gadgets that was fitted in the Elegance model I was amazed, so I did the usual checks and web searches to find out as much as I could about the cars and any issues that were common, but they were few and usually isolated cases. So I must confess that the Estate in my eyes is the better option as the Hatchback IMO looks weird around the back end, So I'm committed to buying a New Skoda Superb Estate 2.0Ltr 170PS Elegance 4x4 in Pearlescent Black Magic, and I must confess for £27,000 with a few extra options fitted during the build it's very good value for money, Also the Skoda Estate is about a foot shorter and it's 10 inches narrower than the than the Xj which is amazing. The stigma of the old Skoda is a thing of the past, and for me I'm looking forward to owning and driving this attractive, highly engineered, well thought out Hearse...Well thats what my Missus was heard to call it, but I didn't order it with the blacked out windows and made sure that it had Ivory leather interior... mind you I could always do a side line in funerals if the threat of unemployment looms again in the future...LOL No details yet of when the delivery will be bit will keep you informed as time goes by ....

Right back to work...RoDM ;-)
