Removing/Installing New Window Motor

Featured Replies

Hi

I had the common issue with my drivers door locking and mirror due to the faulty door control unit (snapped pins).

So I have the door card off and found the faulty door control unit following the very helpful guides on here, so I have ordered a secondhand window motor/door control unit which is turning up tomorrow.

How do I remove old window motor and install the new one?

I am struggling to find a guide on here, is this something a very untechnical person should attempt or should I just take it to the garage with the part and just get them to fit it?

Then waterproof the new part and replace the door card myself to save a little bit of money and ensure this is done properly to avoid future problems.

The motor is attached on the lifting mechanism, and you must take out the whole assembley, and remove the motor.

Is not hard, but must be carefoul
