Spigot rings-I'm a numpty !

Featured Replies

Ok so here's the story. A couple of months ago I swapped my freshly refurbed spiders for a set of genuine 18 inch BBS rc's. This was done at a midway point between myself and Paul which happened to be at Lloyds house in Bristol. So four hour round trip saw the octy wearing new rims. As I have a bit of an OCD the rims were soon after taken to Lepsons of Gillingham for a refurb in nickle chrome. The results are simply awesome. Anyway after refitting I was aware of a slight wobble which didn't give me confidence. However when Gee of W8 detailed my car in preparation for PREPT last week he phoned to ask where my spigot rings were. Spigot rings I replied ? What are they ? Well after Gee had stopped laughing he explained that I needed some rings to drop the 70 mm internal diameter of the BBS's down to the 57.1 mm of the octy hub to locate the wheel correctly and stop any wobbly issues or worse loosening of wheel bolts ! Ooops ! And so a huge thanks to Gee for his help and also Rob of W8 performance who overnighted me the correct genuine spigot rings. Now sorted it drives mint again.

i'm sure you're not the only one... i had to point out the existance of spigot rings to a mate that was putting matching alloys on his caravan :wonder:

safety first me ol fruit. glad to be of assistance. :)

But all sorted now matey and ouber cool :)

Whooooops :D
