Service Indicator display after reset?

Featured Replies

Had my first service a couple of weeks ago, variable so came up after 2 years. Few days ago noticed that they had reset the service indicator to fixed, it was counting down from 365 days.

Just been back to get the service indicator reset to variable.

After 3 days and about 30 miles, the service indicator is showing blank for the days and the mileage. ( Blank equals dotted lines)

Is this normal? I expected it to be counting down from 730 days and 18000 miles.

It takes a few days to appear ..apparantly

Yes it takes up to about 300miles before it starts updating.

I think it is to get a reasonable average before its starts showing its estimate, probably to stop people worrying when they do a short stop start journey right after service and it displays some really low mileage for next service.

I had my Octavia 1.8TSI 4X4 serviced on 23rd July. The display didn't start indicating the days and mileage to the next variable service until around 120 miles after that service. The car has since done just over 400 miles and is displaying 715 days and 18,800 miles to next service.
