Hatchback 12v power supply socket?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just woundering if anyone has fitted a socket in the boot? Quite fancy putting one in but dont realy want to piggyback it of the one in the centre console.

You could go from the junction under the steering wheel, there's a switched live under there and as long as you fuse the wire it would be ok?

I have all drivers side trims out at moment to do exactly this

Was thinking that could be an option. Hoping to track down a 12v supply already in the boot that I can tap in to.

Don't think there is a spare one and I don't recommend taking one from something else as it may cause problems. #

All you need to do is run a wire from the junction to the boot, earth is easy to find, think the rear light one would be easiest

There isn't any 12v lives in boot capable of taking a socket supply off anyway, i found that when i fitted my towbar electrics and needed a supply for box,

Its been running off my amp cable i put in car last year and haven't got round to using yet, proper bodged but it works as a tempory measure
