Octavia door open switch

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Does anyone know how the electronics of a 2000 Octavia know when the drivers door opens, I cannot find a switch or detector. The manual does not show it and it obviously does not allow the lights on alarm or interior light to work.

Its a micro switch built into the door lock

As I had to go all the way and replace mine. My symptoms were door light on permantley and interior light on permantley as the micro switch in the lock asm was defective. As there are approx 4 micro switches doing various things in that lock asm(most completed asm i have ever seem for the job it does) . I was going to bite bullet and buy new until £100 notes was quoted. Scrap yards don't have many octavia's and the VW golf are slightly different depending on year and model so i fixed mine.

hope it helps, At least it well show you have to remove the asm.
