Bought a new Octavia estate 1.6 tdi and took delivery at the beginning of July, just found the forum.

Must say that we didn't experience any delays in build (even with the 'extras' we ordered) that some of your members seem to have encountered.

Must admit that we haven't yet done any distance in it (furthest was a weekend over at Rugby, about 130 miles each way), but so far, I've enjoyed driving it (so does the wife ) it's the first car we've had with cruise control etc. etc. (it's an 'Elegance') makes main road driving a doddle, just have to figure out what all the settings are, so far found out some of the various bits that the 'maxi-dot' does, and where most of the 'pockets' are in the car (I've nick-named it a 'smugglers car' ), managed to cool the wife off while staying warm myself, sort of got the hang of the rain sensor, come back to the car after leaving the windows slightly open to find them shut, figured out how the tow bar fits (and where it's stored - in with the spare wheel!), got soaked by the headlamp washers (by heck, there's some power there!). All in all, very pleased with it (and the mpg! ) so far.
