Uneven coilies

Featured Replies

I think ive just measured up that my rear passanger side sits 5-6mm lower than the rear drivers

And the front passangers sit about 3mm higher than the front drivers

Theyve always been wound down the same amout ?? :(

Would it work just winding the slightly higher corners down ?

Hmmmm ? Seems to easy

What are you measuring, and where are you measuring from ?

The 6 mm is from the garage floor, i was trying to go from center if the rim

Its def down as i resorted to childish poking and rear passanger bites my fingers unlike the rear driver that is abit more friendly and lets u put them under the arch :(

Passenger side front higher than drivers side front. Sounds like its a case of variables acting upon car, are you a food fan?

You need to check the length of threads of the coilovers themselves

measure with ruler to be certain of heights and whether you've got any spring seating issues (typically at the back)

I doubt your garage floor is completely level

What would spring seating issues be ? Like not sat on the adjuster rite or something ?

The front 2 are not really much different... It really is the case Of the back

The front passanger has had a new insert too

Sometimes the rear springs and get slightly unseated, basically not sitting on the cup right

Typically happens when jacking both wheels off ground, and then lowering a bit too quick

Gently jacking and lowering normally enough to sort

Might not be, but worth checking before adjusting coilovers

My right side is lower than the left side (driver) with same 5-6 mm ,and I'm a big chap.

Standard suspension

lol they would be different heights, each corner of the car will be a different weight

Its my passangers side rear thats higher lol id blame dominos if not

That spring thing mite be worth peeking at, as if i jack it both wheels get off the ground.... I will peek in the morning :) fingers crossed

All coilies are the same adjust them evenly so they match

Exactly they are the same but the weight of the car differs corner to corner so setting them all at the same height will make the heights different lol

Cheers mate, i'll have a crawl under him and check springs

Then measure threads

Then just play with the height :)

They'll need corner weighting to be set bang on :)

As raf says each corner will weigh different, although I've always set mine by sight tbh.

Ok... The sun is coming up.....

Springs are sat fine

Rear drivers would 2 turns..... Well maybe 1 and 3/4 as my marker was not facing :D

Mesurement match now on both rears on the most levelish ground i can find.... Tried to measure thread above and below but couldnt see exactly but nye the same

Its looking a liitle like maybe one wheel sits slightly further out :D or i could be still asleep

Im asuming the axels srnt offset to ask a daft question ?

Either way st the mo both arches bite my knuckle on the same point ;) technical measuring i know but hey lol
