mp3 player

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have an

mp3 player in my current car. The head unit for it is mounted below my JVC CD/radio which is what would call the standard size radio. At present the HD and unit is in my glovebox.

I have already found that it will not fit in the Octavia glovebox, which is so small.

I would like to have both head units mounted in the new Octavia and I need the radio unit for the auxiliary input.

Could you please tell me if the connections for power, audio etc are standard or do Skoda do their own proprietary connectors.? I had this problem when I put in my Alpine radio cd changer unit in my existing car, and then went back to the JVC unit when it packed up.

I have slots in my radio unit and understand from what I have researched so far here that standard hacksaw blades will remove the unit.?

Has anyone done anything similar.? I have a friend who would be able to make me any type of mounting plate out of metal.

TIA

The headunit as standard plugs I'm the back with the exception the power and switched lives are the wrong way round.

The cubby hole is a standard single din size

Sent from my Galaxy S2 not a Crapple!

Wow!, thanks for that.

I wouldn't have wanted to knacker the unit if it wasn't capable of handling this.?

Looks like I need to be careful wiring it up.
