Hi Everyone

Featured Replies

Just heard from my employers that my new superb estate will be arriving in September -- Very Excited!!!

This will be my first Skoda, its a black 170 diesel elegance and can't wait to drive it.

Looks like a great forum, looking forward to joining in soon.

Hello and welcome :hi:

Hi Chippy Tea,

Welcome to the Family!!!

I am on my 3rd Skoda now.

I started my love affair with Skoda when i got the first Mk2 Octavia vRS (Which had the Audi TT 180 engine in it)

I absolutley loved wiping the floor with hot hatches and Honda civic Type R's.

Only ever got beat by a Mitsubishi 3000GT and Evo/Scooby (which are not fair game as they have nearly 100 BHP more!!!)

The Second one was a top of the range Mk3 Octavia Elegance (L&K was not out at the time) with tons of extras.

Both the above were company cars and came with free fuel (especially the vRS was VERY useful).

Then i took the plunge out of my own pocket and origionally wanted another vRS but the wife said no as she didnt want to fork out the £20K in one lump and variable APR seems a waste when we did have the money.

So i eneded up going for a L&K octavia and was adding toys when the dealer suggested the Superb Elegance as for the extra £2K i could get everything extra i ordered on the Ocy as standard....and Some!!!

Car was ordered in October last year and then word spread about the L&K upgrade to the Superb.

I contacted the dealer and said if they didnt overide the factory slot for building the motor (Dec week 52) that i would cancel my order and re-order from an other dealer.

Guess what....

The superb is one of those cars that EATS MILES!!!

I drove mine from Bournemouth to M/cr none stop and got out of the car feeling refreshed and happy.

they are just so smooth and comfortable....they are just SUPERB!!!!

I am sure you will enjoy it.

the new Superb is out next year i beleve and some of the gang have managed to aquire some sneak pictures of the shell.

Havce a look!!

PS: You may see my beasty knocking about on weekends in Yorkshire as we have a touring caravan on a permanent pitch near Pocklington.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Hope the superb will be ok, only had a short test drive! I changed jobs a few months ago, used to drive an A3 (170 TDi) currently having to drive a hired Peugeot 308 - not good! A colleague at the new place has a superb and loves it so should be ok?

We also have a touring caravan - though tow with a Nissan Murano (3.5ltr V6) - awesome - both performance and the amount of petrol it can use!!

May look into towing with the Skoda, we'll see.

Will be on the lookout for any superbs on the roads now.

I contacted the dealer for a price but unfortunantly Skoda only supply the single N electrics socket now.

So i have a chap that has already done the towbar on my Zafira (are soon to be bye byed tow car) and was fantastic.

He can fit a towbar to the Superb (Detachable and hidden) for £395.

Not a bad deal.

Spoke to the dealer and he says he has never come across a fault on any car caused by a towbar fitted poorly.

Let me know if you want his number.

Thanks nczernus.

I think we paid around that price for the detachable bar on the Murano. The superb would be far more economical to tow with - only get around 18MPG from the Murano, though we tend to visit North Yorks or Peak district, so not too bad. I've got a delivery date of 7th September for the superb, its a black one with black leather and was already in the UK. I originally chose cappucino with ivory leather - delivery time 5 months - can't wait that long!!!
