I was introduced to Skoda by my son-in-law who is on his second Octavia, his latest car being the Scout.

So when in July I started to do some research on medium sized estates, I swiftly came to the conclusion that the Octavia Elegance dsg auto 1.4Tsi estate was excellent value, suited our needs favourably and with all the offers available (Vat free + 0% interest), placed an order on 27th July. I was able to negotiate another £300 discount + full tank + mats.

It will be in Steel Grey with the added extras of Bluetooth / upgraded steering wheel, folding mirrors, front parking sensors, light assistant and full size spare.

I have been advised be the dealer that it is scheduled for built week 34 (this week!) "status 20" which according to him means that it will not go back!

I shall wait with bated breath !!

I have owned for the past 10 years, an Astra Bertone Coupe 2.2, which gave me very good service. I sold on Ebay last week for a very good price - mind you it had only done 44K, with me being the only owner. But it was a 2-door and quite thirsty around town, so the time had come for a change for a more family orientated vehicle.

I'm greatly looking forward to the new car and can't arrive soon enough.

Meanwhile, having to share my wife's car !
