Rattle in sunroof over bumpy roads

Featured Replies

I've noticed a rattle in the sunroof of late. Most noticeable when the sunroof is in the tilt postion but there's also a slightly less noticeable rattle when the sunroof is fully closed. With the sunroof fully open there seems to be no rattle at all. It only occurs when you drive over a bumpy road (of which we have many to choose from) otherwise not a whisper. Also, when you hold your fist tight against the sunroof when its closed the rattle doesn't occur.

Yeti was in for her first service recently and I mentioned it to the service engineer. They said they'd checked it out and lubed some section of the central locking system to cure it. Didn't sort it unfortunately so I'll have to drop it back in to be checked again. Haven't had any issues re leaking sunroofs by the way.

Just wondering if anyone had come across the same problem?

DITTO! For the last 1500 miles mines been doing exactly the same - since doing the roads in Croatia. Lube on the central locking has nothing to do with the sunroof and annoyingly it's the first rattle in 28 moaths of ownership. It'll be booked in upon my return.
