Milotec Rear Diffuser Query

Featured Replies

The previous owner of my car cut the exhaust gap in the rear bumper into a curve:

I'd like to fit a rear diffuser from Milotec if possible, but obviously I don't want the top of the curve to show.

Can anyone tell me if I'll be okay, or give me the measurements from the bottom of the bumper to the top of the diffuser, so I know it'll work out?

Also will you have to cut it to fit round your towbar

I don't think there was any cutting of the bumper to fit the tow bar (although I'll confirm that in the morning), so I I can't see why the diffuser would need to be cut. Or am I missing something? (quite possible)

Will fit fine mate might need trimming underneath but wont show.

I recon thats a std bumper mate replaced the vrs one?

Trimming underneath what, Billy?

Not a vRS rear bumper? News to me!! I can't see any difference if it is a standard one.

The rear bumper fits upto the spare wheel well so will have to be cut somewhere

VRS bumper is the same as standard just with cut out for tailpipe

should not need to as the towbar comes out from the bumper so rear diffuser should fit in front of it.

Billy it may not completly cover to be honest but would only be very slightly exposed if not at all

If I go by mine and the bit where the rear bumper curves straight Tomah's hole looks cut above that line. The milotec does go above that line so i am probably being too cautious.

heres mine:

That looks really tight, Bowders.

If you have a chance, could you measure it? I'd hate to buy one and it not cover the existing cut out.

Lookin it will be very close.

Where are you as i got one not fitted yet.

Cut underneath the difusor as its flat but you wont see it so should be fine. The rowbar is attached to the rear crashbar and the bumper will be cut underneath for it to come out which is where you may have to trim the diffusor.

Lookin at it that should just cover the hole. Cant see why they would cut out something thats already there unless the towbar was aftermarket or secondhand and came with a bumper as a swap?

I'm in Northern Ireland. :hi:

I'm assuming the idea was to curve the cut out to match the curve of the Milltek. Silly idea imo.

Oh thats a bit far to see if it does cover it lol.

Yea daft idea.

Lookin again and i do think it will actually show slightly now. Dont think it will cover unfortunatly.

Is possible to get a surround to cover the cutting?

Like this sort of idea:
