greenline stop start fun

Featured Replies

i get bored in traffic at time and see what tricks i can play on the stop start system

have found on a hill if you stop in nuetral the engine dies, then if you just roll forward as the traffic moves it restarts and the stop when you stop

found a new one

if you stop gently on the flat take your foot off the brake then gently re-apply, still does not start, gradually push down harder on the brake the engine restarts, or press the brake lightly 2 or 3 times it restarts

so does the stop start have a sensor to check level of vacuum?

anyone else got any other tricks for when i am bored in traffic?

Yeah... Get on a bus and read a book and leave the roads clear for sensible drivers!

it was just something i noticed the other day, and no mention of vacuum being one of the conditions in the manual,

unfortuanately, 2 hour+ bus journey to get to work as opposed to 25 minute drive at 56mph to get in for late shift or 50-60 minute drive to get in for 9am

'Twas only a gag, not a serious reply! I got the older stop-start system, where my students let the clutch go too quick, stall, have to clutch down, turn the key and try again before the joe-losser behind sounds his horn, causing them to rush and stall again! :wall:

i have discover it is impossible to stall the GLII

as the stop start restart as soon as the clutch is down :)
