lights

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

great site you have here, and just sorted out the CCM issue on my wifes car and thanks to this site, all lights back on :-)

but i now have a question if you could help me,

i have seen on Audi's ect a feature where when you unlock the car the headlights come on.is this available on a 2003 superb 1.9 tdi elegance, as my wife works late into the night and where she parks there are no street lights. i have tried searching the net but dont relly know where to start.

thanks in advance

I don't think it is possible just with settings on the car. You can make the headlights stay on for a short time after leaving the car, to say illuminate your drive, but I don't think you can make this happen the other way around.

The settings I'm aware of that you can play with around unlocking the car are:

1) make the alarm horn blip on lock / unlock

2) make the hazzards flash on lock / unlock

3) make only the drivers door unlock the first time you press the button.

I did find this for B5.5 Passat; some gizmos that allow you to fit this kind of automated function (and lots more) - though I don't know if these would work for Superb:

Good luck!

thanks for the info jimbof, i will keep searching, as i find it stange that the same year Audi do it

Welcome,

I never tried it on my MKI Superb so cannot be 100% sure or not, but you will need someone with VCDS to make the changes anyway.

whats a VCDS???

VCDS

Basically it is software that is similar to what the dealer uses to read fault codes and change coding on the vehicle.

Click on the link in my signature for a map of the VCDS owners on Briskoda who are willing to help others.

I checked the VCDS website; it seems pretty certain that this function cannot be added just with VCDS to these cars - ie you need an add-on gizmo. Newer Passats etc can have it enabled.
